Transit Power Steering leak

2004 Transit, made a weird noise sharply pulling in for a minute on the way back from Kenmare to Skibbereen. Didn't think anything of it until turning into Lidl at Bantry... I knew something was up as the steering was getting harder to turn. Checked under the bonnet, 3/4 of the steering fluid gone.
Managed to get home with some effort, checked underneath... serious leak of fluid all over the nearside of the cross-member (and the driveway). Can't see where from, but I'm assuming it's from the actual rack or thereabouts.
Down to the garage tomorrow, but I need to be ready... should I be taking out a second mortgage in advance?

Could be just a burst hose or joint

At this point I would not be too concerned,as stated it could be a burst pipe or seal.
There will be plenty of parts available at breakers yards if required.
Good luck for a speedy repair.

Thanks both, much appreciated replies. I'll sleep a little easier tonight, and I'll post the diagnosis asap.

Oh joy! It seems to be a burst corroded pipe, right above the rack and apparently very hard to get at. It's in surgery overnight, hopefully all will be sorted by tomorrow.
It's at times like these that we realise how much our MH is a major part of our lives .... there's a big space on the driveway, with just a pool of power steering fluid to remind us of the situation!

The prodigal motorhome has returned. Collected this morning, two corroded fluid pipes replaced, they had to completely remove the steering rack to get access. Thankfully we're blessed with a small local repair shop, a team of Eastern Europeans who work hard and charge fairly. They always go the extra mile, and have never let us down. If I said 150 for the whole job, I'm sure you'd agree?
