Kilkeel - This Saturday

 ·
Posted: 30.07.2020  ·  #1
Hi all,

Wanting to attend an event in Kilkeel on Saturday (1st) whilst we are on our travels. Trouble is, I cant find a site for Saturday night. I know it is short notice to be looking, but wasnt aware this was on this week.
We are in a T5, just the 2 of us, no hookup necessary, but would need toilets.
Has anyone any ideas or suggestions? I dont know the area.

Thanks Barry

Thanks Ally.
Might have to pack a bucket. Will be consuming a few beers.
I suppose a taxi wouldnt be an arm and a leg from there (if there are any operating in the area)

Taxi shouldn't be too bad. I'm begining to think there are public toilets, but not sure if I am imagining it now - lol

There is a pub handy enough to it.

Ring ahead to the pub you are visiting, they might let you park.

There are a few sites around killkeel you would need to look them up there’s one on the Newcastle road down a road to the beach but I don’t know if they take m/hs you could try down by the harbour for a bit of wild camping good luck

There is a spot in a car park at the sea front near the Bowling Club. Turn left at Kilmorley Arms hotel on the Greencastle Road and drive to bottom of Knockchree Avenue. Entrance to car park is almost opposite. No facilities available.

There are toilets across the road from the Aire and down a few yards. Locked at night but there is a radar one.

Radar is the key for disabled toilets across whole of UK. The same key opens the majority of toilets 24/7. Key is available from Boots and other shops, council offices and on line. Key costs about £5.

RADAR is the term used for the key that opens disabled toilets, usually available to blue badge holders.

Maybe a few no shows

Just talking to a work mate there, he was south last week, he said quite a few places weren’t taking bookings, but if you turned up you got in
