Major incident declared

A major incident has been declared after thousands of people flocked to beaches on the south coast of England during this week’s hot weather.

Scorching temperatures saw the mercury rise to 30 in parts of the UK before midday today.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council said services were “completely overstretched” as huge numbers of visitors defied advice to stay away.

Well....... My son was down at that beach today on his electric one wheel thingymabob.

He was using his GoPro, I said where are all the crowds? He replied "don't believe that rubbish!" He then took a video of a very nice clean beach and pointed out the single bit of rubbish.

Media bullshit!! Yes there were crowds, but they were all spread apart and nowhere near the problems reported. More BBC fake news.

I have seen footage of another location some weeks ago which was a London Park (I think) the shot at eye level along the pathway looked pretty bad until someone posted drone footage of the park at the same time (apparently ). That painted a totally different picture of people reasonably well spaced, and possibly some of the groups were family.

As I posted on another forum, at least the press can get their teeth into this and stop posting articles and photos of Motorhomes badly parked (or not), overnighting (or not) and generally being touted as the spawn of the devil!

It's early yet, Just you wait until some media reporter gets the notion to do a story about record motorhome sales, overbooked campsites and why all ttourist spots are being jammed up with campers "illegally parked" because they have nowhere else to go.

Well you know how that'll go...

The only beaches that I have ever seen look that crowded are in New York. Bournemouth, really?

Lad's.....Do I need to go to specsavers?.....From what I'm looking and listening to right now on TV is a jam packed Bournemouth beach....Many travelling from quite a distance to flock to said beach. I know camera angles can distort things but still large crowds gathered.

I found it amazing also, but I seen the video. It just doesn't REALLY look anywhere near as bad as the TV showed.

As I said above, yes there were crowds, but they made it out to be a lot worse. They also mentioned, fights, drinking and rubbish just to sensationalise it.
