Good evening, we are the genuine seller of the vehicle in question. After sending eBay numerous messages over a period of 3 weeks, putting a huge warning at the top of our listing in big red letters, adding the warning to the subtitle on ebay, and answering messages from 30+ people asking is it us selling a £20k van for £8k I managed to get a live chat with eBay yesterday, you can see a copy of the transcript below:

Hello eBay, you have a major issue at the moment with scam motorhome adverts and we have reported item number 254584029471 many times as have many other ebay users. Is your fraud dept closed?

Hi Karen. Welcome to eBay Concierge chat, my name is Kenny

06:59:40 UTC Kenny
Sorry to hear you're having difficulty with a seller

07:00:57 UTC dragonville
Hi Kenny, this is Darren Karens husband. We run the motorhome business together. Our advert 333589675893 has been copied and listed at £8000. It has been on ebay for weeks, multiple reports to ebay about 254584029471 but ad still remains, not like ebay

07:01:39 UTC dragonville
Multiple buyers sending me ebay messages asking why scam ad not removed

07:02:04 UTC dragonville
Our listing £19995, scam listing £8000

07:03:02 UTC Kenny
Give me just a moment I am going to take a look at the seller of this reported listing

07:03:28 UTC dragonville
Would be amazing thanks Kenny! He has three scam adverts on there

07:04:48 UTC Kenny
stev_kur is the seller, correct?

07:05:05 UTC dragonville
Yes that is correct

07:05:18 UTC dragonville
Very very dodgy

07:05:50 UTC dragonville
We bought that motorhome for £16k trade price, £8000 is ludicrous!!

07:06:57 UTC Kenny
From what I can see those reports have been received by the team, sometimes a single report can turn into a multi week investigation depending on how many accounts that one is linked to

07:07:47 UTC Kenny
So I am going to contact a team who specialises in Seller fraud and make them aware of this item, the report process is taking longer than usual due to this whole Covid 19 issue, but it will get reviewed

07:09:05 UTC dragonville
OK thanks Kenny. Yes CV19 is causing meltdown online and the scammers are working overtime. I appreciate ebay are busy and normally scam ads are removed in a few days, but this guy been on there for weeks now with these three adverts

07:09:34 UTC Kenny
Completely unacceptable, I do agree

07:09:45 UTC dragonville
Without doubt he will have found some victims, which will lead to bad press, then in turn a drop in consumer confidence in the site :-(

07:10:05 UTC dragonville
Anyway will keep my fingers crossed the ads get removed soon

07:10:22 UTC Kenny
I appreciate you letting me know, thank you

07:10:26 UTC dragonville
Thanks for your assistance Kenny :-) much appreciated

07:10:37 UTC Kenny
Have a good evening :) Stay safe

07:11:10 UTC dragonville
You too

Typical trash talk from ebay,I have reported this scam about 8 times and it is still there.
I tried contacting ebay this evening for a phone conversation only to get the message that I was outside office hours.
They are slowly loosing their buyers belief in them.

Another personal experience I had in the last 2 weeks, one night I engaged eBay to purchase 50 plastic pegs to complete a garden project that I had started over the lockdown. Within a short time I decided to purchase more garden edging from the same ebayer so the next day I realised that I had got the same tracking number for both orders and thought that the seller had took the opportunity to send both items together.
A few days later I received the first order of 50pegs in a small box with the label stating the contents were 50pegs.
Later I noticed that my eBay now stated that both items were delivered so I went into overdrive.
The 50pegs cost £11.99 but my other order cost just short of £80.
I got a contact number for the seller which turned out to be international and I kept ringing until he answered, well my translation of English got the message through that I was not accepting this scam along with the photos of the small box containing the first order.
I tried to engage eBay and am still waiting for a response but have now received the second order with a complete different tracking number as confirmed by the seller.
This was a scam if I had not got on my high horse.
