Habitation door lock problem

Hi all.
Hope everyone is still sane .
I accidentally locked myself out of my motorhome one night in Portugal and finished up drilling the barrel out so now I’m trying to find a replacement.
Any help appreciated as to where I can source a new barrel or lock .
I have tried on internet contacted few companies but no responses to date .

Thanks in advance .

That habitation lock on our van has locked on it's own a few times in the past when we close it from the outside. I have a spare key attached to the underside with a rare earth magnet. I covered it in grease and have it in a strong plastic bag

That used to happen ours too Tommy, now we make sure that the inside handle is up in the correct position every time we close it. It happens if the inside handle is down a small bit.

I find one of these with a couple of the essential keys in it and attached to the inside of the chassis gives me confidence,
Mine has been used for a couple of years and seems to be waterproof .

Thanks for all advice lads
My mh is ci 2016 magis 95xt
I tried up load photo but don’t think I’m allowed as I not pay on site or maybe it’s just me is thick.

I’m thinking a lot of operations are now closed and it’s hard to get delivery in Portugal Amazon is backed up it seems.

I should have hidden a key like u guys recommended stupid not to I should know better.

I been to camper serv here in algarve which a lot recommend is great motorhome repair garage shop as it uk owned operated but I would not share that view and I have been there many times with other items and always the same waffle but no fix or solution even this time his answer was ( better if u had to break a window ) I might be able to help what a dick.

As most locking system on habitation doors are similar sort of locks I was wondering is there a better quality lock that fits in the same place but offers better security and don’t want to be drilling more holes in doors or panels ,I might be better up rating lock as I’m sure the repair is going cost me anyway
What u guys think .

Try this guy https://cantinhodocaravanista.pt/
Km marker 95 or 99 on the N125 between Albufeira and Faro he is not far from the English speaking crowd but he is Portuguese and very good at fixing things and reasonably priced. You should phone or email in advance, his wife speaks good English.

I will check the handle tomorrow as suggested and see if there is a make or number on it .
The rest of the lock system works as normal it still locks from inside and opens from outside .
I’m pretty sure that the barrel is a very common type and used extensively in mh world .

Thanks to everyone for trying to help and phots are now on first post in this thread thanks to the boss.
Stay safe

No name or markings on the handle that I can see I took photo of the key but can’t upload it .
The same key fits all other locks on habitation .
Still no answer from any of the companies u guys recommended as I assume they are are all closed currently.
Hopefully someone will come along with a solution.
Many thanks

If like mine, the same key opens all the lockers. Could you move the barrel from the locker you use the least and then replace it with one of the basic cylinders found on fleabay with a separate key.

Hi. Mark .
Perhaps I will look at that option ,maybe the gas locker ,I can move over, good thinking
It’s not looking promising that any of the companies suggested that I contacted will return with an answe anytime soon.
I will proceed with trying to change over the gas locker barrel.
Thanks again
Stay safe all .
