The photo you made reference to Ally referring to the Lake District was also used in a BBC report, and is a stock image by Getty. Nowhere in their article do they identify a campervan or Motorhome as the vehicle in question.
Quite a few English people on forums use a campervan as their sole vehicle, for whatever reason wether financial or space related. I dare say they get disapproval due to perceptions by the public.

I know, see post 5. Neither of them have responded to the question.

Yes and both media are targetting Motorhome owners unfairly. The BBC one is total rubbish and the Echo used a Motorhome image when it could of used a car or any other vehicle. Sensationalist journalism.
My wife is busy sewing scrubs for the frontline nurses and yesterday a woman came to collect what she had made, she arrived in a camper van with large signs on the sides and rear stating Essential NHS scrubs delivery, she didnt want anyone thinking she was out on a jolly!

Side note:
At last, Facebook has a reason to exist and it is doing it well. So much anger and hate on there also at the moment. It's bedlam.
Not only thousands helping but also donating, they have raised roughly £20,000 so far to buy material etc. What started out making them from new bedlinen, donated by Bedeck, they now have been buying rolls of linen and cotton and getting them machine cut. Angela has gone from making 2-3 sets a day with cutting etc to 10 full sets with just sewing. The group has orders in for over 5000 sets with priority to the nightingale hospital then the covid wards. Our house is like mr wongs chinese laundry
