Very sad news, legendary singer/songwriter John Prine has died of the Covid virus.
Had the pleasure of seeing this guy sing in a pub in Ardara in Co.Donegal. He is married to a girl from the town. Came into the pub with the guitar, like one of the locals...... jammed with the lad playing there and sang some of his most famous stuff. Drank a beer with us and chatted to everyone. Not just a solo artist, John played with the very best, Springsteen, Bonny Raitt, Dylan and many more. Very sad indeed. RIP

Seen him a couple of times. Some beautiful lyrics especially in a sonf "Hello in there" about the need to talk to a person even if their mind might be a bit fuddled occasionally.

His song "Sam Stone" about a Soldier with PTSD after the Vietnam war is very poignant. Couldn't handle the horrors and took to heroin and other hard drugs.
Big fan of his music, some amazing lyrics with a very unique voice.
