We were to travel May/June I cancelled, I don't think traveling out of Ireland is an option this year ☹

Option or not, I don’t think it will be a holiday visiting grief sticking Countries who’s people will be grieving the death of love ones. RIP. I don’t think anyone will be in holiday mood no matter where we go.

Irish Ferries are now allowing free cancellation, for up to end of May sailings, for those without flexibility option. In this case they transfer payments made to be used up to end of 2021.

I suspect they will extend this to later sailings as time goes on.

Yeah, heard there were a few Motorhomes coming of the ferries.

Sure as long as we worry about our reputation more than our health we'll be alright.

Its not the motorhomes that would concern me, its people in cars going to AirB&B , who will end up going around supermarkets and small shops because there is nowhere else open.

That's a good point.

But sure as long as they aren't driving a Motorhome they'll be fine.

I can't understand why arrivals at ferry ports can circulate at will while we are confined to 2km of home.
The rate of death per 100,000 people in the UK is around 2.5 time that of here in Ireland.
The rate of infection in the population there seems to be unknown, but going on the above the spread must be a lot worse than here.
The ferries should be for essential freight only.

Is this the end of small business? I’m just thinking of all those family run and small pubs. If they can’t afford to ride out this lockout, which could be a year or more, who’s going to run them eventually? Corporations? International hedge funds?

I'd like to thing your wrong there, the run business, by there very nature will try to open because their family and may start back with just one working.
Now business where the owner's have to employ and pay someone to run them may never reopen.

I hope I’m wrong. But there’s surely an economic collapse looming. And every time there’s one of those it seems to be followed by a corporate grab. This is Ireland inc.

They were the volunteers to help look for the 2 young girls that spent 15hrs in the sea and were rescued today at lunchtime
Didn't think masks were compulsory outside
