I have only refilled my gas low bottles via its external fill point in Spain Portugal and France using adaptors supplied with the system. I did fill up in Wales once and no adapter was required, would that be the case in ROI?

ROI uses the ACME filler point the same as Germany and some parts of France.
Its the one with the lefthand threads on the outside.
Spain is the odd one, they use the euro nozzle. Portugal use the dish same as some parts of France.
Your filler point is the Bayonet for UK and the Netherlands.
If confused PM me.

Thank you although I have noticed that Portugal now users the same adapter as Spain.

I went to fill mine on fri is it normal that when you connect the pump that you hear like air being sucked out of the tanks do you have to wait till that noise stops before pushing the red button to start filling

Yes, when you operate the lever on the hose nozzle there is a strong hiss and sometimes a vibration at the fill point. The hiss should only last a couple of seconds, should be well finished in the time you move from the nozzle to the button on the pump.
