It is interesting they took the Coroners fee out of the money found on the body.

The Show Must Go On ?? & Go On It Does !! 🤨😕 After the accident GAC ( General Artists Corporation) talked Dion & The Belmonts, Frankie Sardo, Waylon & Tommy Allsup in to continuing on with the tour, promising them bonus's $$ if they would stay on to finish up the tour & they would add some more artist to the show also. At the end of the tour as Waylon said they never got any bonus's, no extra money, not even a Thank You !!! 😕 Photo is February 3rd 1959 & it's "Bobby Vee & The Shadows" doing a one nighter at "The Armory" in "Moorehead,Minn.& Dion & The Belmonts & Waylon at the Armory. "Frankie Avalon" is flown in to "Sioux City,IA to "Shore Acres" to start his part in the tour. Over the next few days "Jimmy Clanton & "Ronnie Smith" would also join the tour !! Photo of Waylon, Ronnie Smith & Tommy Allsup (Date & Location Unknown ?) Then Fabian was also brought on to the tour. The original info. card for the February 14th show in Peoria,IL at "The Armory". (before the accident) The flyer after the accident !! Newspaper acticle about the show in Peoria. (Bad Photo, But it's Fabian being mobbed by screaming girl fans in Peoria. Waylon & Tommy Allsup in Peoria. Autographs from the performers of the Peoria show !! 😕 Well you can see if your Not Blind, That it has been only 12 days since the accident until the Peoria show & music is changing already !! 😢😟 Rock n' Rollers are being replaced by handsome pop stars !! 😔 This is really the way the music industry wanted it ! Handsome young men singing to the girls & actting & singing the way they wanted them to. The day of of the unruly, I'll do it my way ,write it my way & sing it my way, was over !! At least for a while !! 😉 I guess you could say the day of the accident was "The Day That The Music Died" !!!! 😫😢😔

This isn't correct as Buddy got thrown from the plane also.

However, I never knew this exhumation had happened.

On February 1st 1959, "William Hall" The Big Bopper's manager had just finished up signing contact's for The Big Bopper to go on tour in Japan, Australia,New Zealand & Hawaii as well as tour through Europe, Plus a 9 week engagement at some little place called Las Vegas !! The Bopper was booked to fly to Australia on February 22nd & The Bopper sent a letter to Australian D.J. "Bob Rogers" Thanking him & all of the fans who set The Bopper over 1,600 fan letters, The Bopper also sent along 100 autographed photo's for Bob to give out to his listeners !! Sadly only hours later all of the plan's & dream's ended !!!

65 YEARS AGO TODAY! February 13, 1955 : ELVIS PRESLEY and BUDDY and BOB (a country duo featuring an eighteen-year-old BUDDY HOLLY) perform (4pm matinee) at the Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock, TX, U.S.A.!

This is the first booking that Bob Neal has obtained directly through Colonel Parker. The group receives $350 for their matinee performance. The ads that circulated around town proclaimed 'The Be-Bop Western Star of the Louisiana Hayride Returns to Lubbock. A young Buddy Holly appears at the bottom of this bill as half of the country--and--western duo Buddy and Bob. Actually, Buddy Holly opened for Elvis who kindly lent Buddy his Martin guitar for the show (others claim Buddy used Sonny Curtis' guitar and you can see a cross/tape in the whole of the guitar Buddy is using, you don't see in the Elvis pic: TEX).

Buddy Holly was a senior at Lubbock High School named Buddy Holly (huh? 🤔 I haven't got a clue what they mean by this: TEX) , who performed with his friend Bob Montgomery. They had played parties and church events and on local radio, but this show was different. With the crowds and the venue and the stage, it had the feel of the big time. Indeed, Holly would open for Elvis twice more that year at the coliseum, which still hosts events. These performances would lead to a meeting with Eddy Crandall, the manager of Marty Robbins, who would introduce Holly to the execs at Decca Records. Photo Credit: Unknown. Elvis Australia thanks!

On this day in 1980, Buddy Holly's trademark glasses were "rediscovered" in old police files by the Mason City, Iowa, Sheriff.

The glasses had been thrown some distance from the plane crash and were found in the Iowa cornfield where Holly died after the spring thaw that year. They were apparently turned into the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's department and sealed into an envelope dated the day the broken glasses were received: April 9, 1959.

On February 29, 1980, Sheriff Jerry Allen was sorting through old files and found them. He returned the glasses to Holly's widow, Maria Elena. She subsequently sold them to Civic Lubbock, Inc., a city booster organization, for $80,000. They were donated to the City of Lubbock, and can be seen at it's Buddy Holly Center.

Here is a very Awesome photo !! Because it has so many well known people in it !! Taken in Nashville in 1956 !! First in the top left corner you have Dean Curtis, Sonny Curtis, Buddy, Don Guess, Clara Cobble & Thelma King !! Over to the top right it look's like "Colonel Tom" Parker" ? 🤔 To the bottom left corner you have "Wanda Jackson" in the black !! And in the center, the person that everyone is circled around & shaking hands with is "Minnie Pearl" !!! And I'm sure there are more stars in that photo that I don't even recognize !! It truly is a time capsule, A piece of music history !!

Buddy and his 1958 Aeriel Cyclone.

Some of him and the motorcycle. Others of how the showroom looks today and his father on the bike after Buddy's death. Also how the bike looks today in the Buddy Holly Centre.

The original has Buddy holding a copy of the tour program for the Biggest Show of Stars for 1958 Fall edition tour...the page facing out is that of Harold Cromer.

The photoshopped version.
