Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone that has a 2009 Mk7 Ford Transit might have a picture of the way they fitted Beam branders!! Are they still required in France??

yes you do need them if you are right-hand drive, there should be instructions with the kit to show the position, what benders have you got.?

I think they are Eurolites!! I bought them in Halfords but didn't open them yet!!

I was just wondering as the transit has a different shape headlamp then most.

They say they are required but i stopped putting them on years ago (they are qute hard to get off but I have got a couple in the glove box), I just turn the beam down and don't drive much at night. Not seen any European vans with any on when they come over here either.
If they are Eurolites they do come with instructions .

I have clear headlight protectors for my Ducato. They have a marked area in the middle that you black out with the supplied tape. I wouldnt be happy sticking tape on the plastic lens

they will have every fitting instruction for all vehicles If in dought get Halfords to fit them or ask the lads in the lads in the doe center if they will do it.

I have seen the Police stop people in Roscoff and make them fit them.

I have to keep mine footed on my LHD Ducati yo gets it through the MOT. Best if you can get someone with access to one of the light box testers that they use in the MOT centres. Mind you the ones in the MoT centres probably are not being used much at the moment!

Beware! I left mine on our LHD Rimor for a year, the adhesive ate into the plastic (?) headlamp lenses and left permanent blemishes.
Now I only fit them for the CVRT, and I made a few tiny scratch lines on the lenses to get the position right each time.

I do the same a little spray of Mr. WD breaks down the glue and makes them easier to remove.

I have forgotten to do that myself after returning from France, At least you were only cutting down, your own view of the side of the road. which could be dangerous enough on country roads.
But not using them on an LHD, here or the UK. ( or the other way on an RHD in France etc, ) is a different story when your dip beams cross the centerline to dazzle oncoming drivers. I'm surprised the Revenus / RSA and the insurance company's, don't insist that the Headlamps be changed before you can register an LHD vehicle.
I know If I owned one I would change them because beam benders only stop the dip beam crossing the center line they do not help you see the nearside road margin or Pedestrians or cyclists and the aiming of the headlight main beam is different also.
What would your cover be? if you have an accident and it is discovered tour lights are incorrectly positioned, it's your responsibility to have a vehicle road legal at all times.

I wouldn't think so, its the pattern on the lens that directs the focuse.

Many A Class use Hella 90mm units which are easily changed from lh dip to rh dip.
I usually do mine when in the queue waiting to board the ferry.

On the back of each lamp you will see three screws. Two in slotted holes and one in a circular hole with an unused hole next to it.
Undo the two screws in the slotted holes slightly and remove screw from the circular hole fully.
Now twist the light unit so the screws in the slotted holes are at the other end of each slot and the unused circular hole now lines up to the hole in the front body of the light.
Replace and tighten all three screws removed.

To convert it back to dip to left reverse the process.

So it is possible then. So if you had access to a light box, it might be possible to set to suit the country you are in
