At home or abroad we always check out the website yr.no as fairly reliable

When on our holidays we don’t plan in advance just “head for the sun” ( or avoid heatwave/floods).

What websites do you use for Ireland and overseas?

Anyone know the best one to check the weather forecast at sea (between Dublin and Cherburg)?

They can be as far out as the light house at times, pretty much the same as the majority of them

They have a rainfall radar that tells you what happened in the last three hours, I don't care what has happened, I can look out the window, I want to know what is likely to happen in the next Three.
That for me is worse than useless.

I know the rainfall radar is historic but it does show the direction and speed of travel of rain showers during the past three hours so it can be used to get an accurate indication of what's on the way over the next three hours.

I do agree with you that if you study it, you can get a picture of what may happen, but there are the ones with the degrees and the big salaries, what are we paying them for, if we have to try figure it out,

Pardon me for quoting myself, but what I should have said in that post is that, GFS have been right more often than Met eireann. For me anyway. There have been times when the Met have called a red/ orange alert on a supposedly approaching storm and I check GFS which tells me no, relax, everything is fine. Which then turns out to be the case.

Am I missing something? there are a number of tabs on the radar on the Met Eireann app that show predicted rainfall, wind, temps etc. for the full week ahead. I use these all the time as I cycle to work and find them very reliable, much better than accuweather that I used previously.
