Motorhome or Camper as permanent home in Ireland (Dublin)

Hello together,

Me and my girlfriend want to emigrate to Dublin this year.
Is it possible and legal to live in a Campervan or Trailer Park in Ireland?
If so, can someone recommend me a good Park?
I am only interested for permanent staying.
Thanks in advance,

Most camper parks close for the winter and you can't live in them permanently, we don't have residential trailer parks in Ireland where you can rent a unit. there are residential parks where you can leas a site but you have to put a chalet type building on it.

You need to insure a private car to insure a camper ,I dont think there are any campsites that allow full time residents either

Camac Valley Camping is open all year and might do a seasonal rate... there used to be a camper van parked on a pitch long term.

i mheard from another motorhomer that North Beach Caravan Park in Rush will do a weekly rate if you have your own camper. I also heard of them renting out units at a reasonable cost in the winter.

Does North Beach not close for winter?

Dont think so, maybe unofficially opened. I know a few local lads who have stayed there over the winter in the past. Unless they have changed their policy its worth a call.

Insurance will be the problem. It will be impossible to get insurance without owning a car and having a permanent address, so unless you intend to have none, please don't consider this.

I thought Dolmen did insurance for camper vans as a primary vehicle? Usually for about twice the price of their standard policy.

I'd ask about not having a permanent address. I suspect any insurance company would baulk at the van or a campsite being your only address.
