Rusty Nutz Waxoyl Treatment

Just want to say a big " Thank you " to Ally and staff at Rusty Nutz. I had my MH there on Saturday for complete underbody/chassis Waxoyl treatment. What an extremely thorough and professional job Ally did on my van. I intend keeping it for a long time and this treatment will insure zero rust issue's year's and decade's down the line.... Great service, Great price! :up: :up: :up:

It stopped that rusting noise we could hear from the other van that was there. 🤔😁

Indeed....That " Other van " definitely was making the dreaded rusting noise, could really benefit from a waxoyl job.....I'm sure the owner will see the light and get it done! :P :lol:

Is it possible to have Waxoyl or similar treatment removed?
My Alko chassis was done without asking (long story) but on perfectly good unmarked galvanised metal it's really superfluous and looks bad.

Would Gunk or white spirit take it off. I think petrol would but could be dangerous

Heat or white spirit or similar, a strong pressure washer would probably remove most of it but you would need to be careful of other items in below. Messy job I reckon.

Interesting story I would like to hear one day. Who waxoyls something thats galvanised :/

Surely the galvanised metal will rust eventually. I’d keep the waxoyl on as well.

Galvanize is really excellent way to stop metal from rusting. I have experience with Porsche 944's. They were all fully galvanized from new and had a 10 year anti- perforation warranty. Fast forward 20 - 30 years and nearly everyone I see has some rot in the sills of varying degrees. The UK salt their roads and this eventually kills even the best galvanized vehicles.

Near where I live there are some galvanised poles and railing along the seafront some of which gets salted twice a day and except for welds and odd scrapes there is not a sign of rust.
Isn't the salt used to treat roads a type of gritty rock salt, I expect that concoction being blasted at the underside of sills by the tyres would beat its way through any protection.
