Love Deano, love Sinatra, but I’m gonna go slightly left field here and say Jim. Yeah Jim Morrison, he was a crooner too in case you didn’t realize.

No way John. I’ve been a long time fan. You can see the crooning right? I hope you got to see some of his hangouts in L.A, Venice beach, The Whisky A-gogo? I remember I was celebrating my 40th birthday in Yosemite Valley (California) when chatting to some old fellow that evening who told me that Ray Manzerek had passed away. We we’re both sad.

Edit: Florida is far away from California of coarse I realise.

Love Jim and The Doors also.

I'm confused with this topic though, I'm scared to get involved 😂

Roy Orbison now that's a great Crooner!

I never was out on the west coast Jason so never seen his old haunts. He grew up in Florida and my ex wife gave me the Jim Morrison hometown tour, his old home etc. Always was a fan from a young age

Now don’t be confused Ally. I’m merely pointing out what I think is the obvious influence that Sinatra must have had over some of Jim’s songs. Surely you have to agree it obvious when you listen to something like ‘Blue Sunday’?

As far as Roy goes, what a legend. Take a song long ‘In Dreams’. Technically it shouldn’t work at all, as far as pop songs go. No defined verses and choruses, more a journey without a hook . A buildup that starts with a marching beat and ends in a crescendo of Orbison hitting the high octaves. What a classic.

See how one thing leads to another. Friend of mine bought the Doors LP " Soft Parade £ back in our early teens. It sounded different to all the other Doors albums but still liked it. Anyway...years later found out it was a mixed up pressing of a Tim Buckley Album! It had the Doors track listing but Tim Buckleys tracks....Here's a Tim Buckley track thats seriously mellow :-)

Ok John, I will click on your Tim Buckley link. But not before I report back to you now having just clicked your Roy Orbison, In Dreams link, a song I have indulged many a time. Yeah, what can I say? Classic. The structure to the song is utterly unique. There is no verse, chorus, verse, bridge structure. A staccato Bossa Nova strummed rhythm that builds and builds. Thanks mate, I’ll be up half the night now. Lucky I have a few days off 😜

Thanks for the introduction to Tim Buckley, John. I had never heard of him but as soon as I played him I got the connection to Jeff Buckley. We learn something new every day. Very chilled tune indeed. 👍

Green cans. But nevertheless, I was actually mixing Deano up with someone else whois played a lot by another Craic'er. 😂

No longer confused and no problems listening to Deano 😁 I couldn't listen last night.
