I know GOMO are advertising unlimited data (limited to 80GB fair usage ) but when you check your account it shows 10GB Data?

I have had reason to contact their Customer Service as I got one of their Sims to try it out. Luckily I did not change my own number over......... their Service is the worst I have ever came across! Shower of Fu*ks to deal with.

There is probably others that will disagree with me.......but...............
From my dealing with them...........Just beware !!!!!

It’s an eir company. Absolute disaster. I bought a phone on line and they wouldn’t give me s vat receipt for it. After contacting the ombudsman, waste of time, and eventually the revenue, to report them for not furnishing an invoice to a legal entity,( registered for vat) they eventually admitted that they had no way to produce a vat invoice from their online sales. I never heard the likes. Went on for months, mainly because I was like a dog with a bone. Eventually got a discretionary exemption !!! From revenue. Why they didn’t compel them to furnish an invoice, I can only guess. Big companies being minded and shag the little man.

I really wouldn’t sweat that one. They’ve announced to the world their offering is for unlimited data. I doubt there’s a catch. My account says the same. But have a look at the terms.

I would like to see my data useage though. I can’t find that when I log in.

So it is. Not an issue. The unlimited applies for non-roaming

That explains the 10GB.

Best of luck to anyone that needs to deal with their Customer Service!

I have heard a few sad stories and a few that have had no problem,

Seems that the problem arises if you try contact the customer care web chat,......not a clue have they,

I've heard of people losing their long time number while trying to change over and it's just gone, no recovery

Yep. Me too. Enough to stop me ever going near them. Another reason, I’m already with eir, and their customer service is akin to ringing Adolf, and asking him to stop fecking around with Jewish people. Seriously, stay away. If you’re in and sorted, the network is ok. But the customer service is non existent.

Myself and Louise ported without issue. Network coverage at home and at work is comparable to Vodafone. Network coverage at my folks house is substantially better, but it always was a vodafone blackspot.

I don't look forward to ever having to deal with "customer service" but that seems to be a universal truth about telecoms companies and none can be as bad as my one time tv / broadband provider, the oximoronically titled Smart Telecom.

With GOMO since October. No problems and coverage and price great. Was always advertised as no frills and web chat only.

I have been with eir( same company) for the last 5 years. The coverage is fine, for me the price is ok. The customer service, if you need it, is practically nonexistent. So long as you take that on board, it’s a good deal.... but... it is way, way worse than you have ever experienced.... ever.

I used have to select the sales option when calling Smart Telecom to demand a call back from the technical team because it was a waste of time choosing the technical support option, the queue was always hours long. I even made a brief appearance on Prime Time along with other neighbours at the time when they were doing a segment on poor customer service in the telecoms sector. I can handle the online only support as long as there's actually someone there to respond.

Have to agree with Daffysparks. I attempted on several occasions to change over to GOMO. Each time
They could not change the number over. I am glad now it did not!

I was billed for a month that I did not even have their SIM card and trying to get online assistance or a reply from them was non existent. I then tried to cancel their sim without any luck and eventually had to contact COMREG before the sim was terminated.

Their online customer care promises a response within, I think 24hrs. However they never responded even after numerous attempts in my case.

I'm sure many might have a positive experience but in my opinion they are the worst Company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Ordered this before Christmas on special at ~£47

D-Link DWR-921/B 4G/3G LTE... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0…b_ap_share

It's a 12v supply so worst case it will be fitted to the van, but im considering installing it in the attic with a cat5 cable to the sitting room router.

I speedtested gomo just now on my phone in the kitchen (worst reception in the house) at 8mbps, went up to the attic and it was 60mbps.

The 80mb limit may become a problem but 160mb would be close to the mark, swapping SIMs once a month* could be tolerable for broadband we can take with us.

*all gomo sims reset on the first of the month swap mid month and you get 160mb per month with 1 sim change per month.

I would not join it, not for €1000 Anything above that I’m tempted. That’s not just phone networks, now 😜
