Shade and solar

I was near Zaraha in Spain, amazing sunshine but could not work our why my solar panels weren’t charging the batteries until I looked from the outside and saw my shower roof vent was obscuring one panel. Closed the vent and then it went supersonic, just shows how much the shade reduces the power of solar panels.
Anyway all is good, JJF is in for a treat 29 degrees today, I had to find shade.

I have seen sample panels, and you put the flat of your hand over one of them and you lose up to 90% of the energy. Their are other ones, do the same thing and you only lose 10%. It depends on how the individual cells are connected

A good reason to fit multiple smaller panels instead of one huge one, for example 2X100w instead of 1X200w

Also a good reason to wire them in parallel so that one shaded panel does not bring down the whole array.
