Locker struts

Over the years the struts on the locker doors have failed and don’t keep the doors open. I didn’t want to go to a EuraMobil dealer as they charge an arm and a leg. I found a company that could regass them for £9 per strut rather than buying new from them for £16. I don’t know if they do for all struts but the ones I have are Suspa liftline. The company is SGS in Derby

I have a load of them here that I took of our van. They were just too strong a strut and were pulling the screws out. Once removed the hinge was enough to keep the doors open so i don't even know why they were fitted!

I have looked at different ones but holes etc don’t line up. I want to keep it as tidy as possible. Some of the screws in the holes are a bit loose but I will attend to that when I get the struts sorted. It’s really annoying trying to hoke in the lockers and hold the door at the same time. If these are a success I will get the two large ones that hold up the over cab bed sorted.

I need new struts for our drop down bed. When we were getting work done I left them in a not so dry place :/ the metal pitted and of course the gas escaped. Actually I must sort that right now that I think of it.

If it is of any help I can certainly recommend SGS for sorting out your gas struts. I used them to upgrade the struts when I had a T5 conversion and I wanted the door to stay up with a bike on the back, they did all the work on the actual requirements, I did actually take them myself and they did the work in about 1 hour even telling me were I could go for a cupper and a bacon doorstep sandwich.
I have since bought a compressor from them magic compared to the one I bought from Screwfix which lasted less than 2 months.

Got the struts back. It's a good job, £104 for 10 struts regassed. They would cost £16 plus vat for new

Just got the 2 struts that hold up the over cab bed. I was getting fed up ducking down to get from cab to rear. Another good job from SGS

Forgot to say. When I was speaking with SGS the guy advised leaving the locked doors open when not using the van. When open they are not compressed and less likelihood of them failing early.

I leave all my locker doors open to improve ventilation. I got new gas struts for my rear transverse bed but usually leave it down. Maybe I will leave that up now too.
