We are all aware of Ebay scams, but these adverts have been running for days and days, I have been reporting them. So why haven't ebay removed this seller? or at least suspended their account?

Makes me very very dissapointed in ebay and would make me stop using it.

Lots of reasons.

All mostly advertised as buy it now for 5600 or 3600, all listings start with £1.00. Photos are all taken different places, too many variations of different vehicles to be a dealer. Email address in advert so you can pay/contact them privately.

The most obvious though is the fact that all adverts have the same description, also the description is an image, not text.

Persuade you to transfer the funds via something other than PayPal and tell you they will deliver the MH to you,
If you don't like it you have 7 days to return the MH, they may even offer to collect it free also

This is really disappointing as I thought ebay were more strict than this, I have also reported it but can still log into this account.
As has been said everything is either £3600 or £5600 and exactly the same wording used.
It will be interesting to see if any action is taken by ebay.

Yeah I got caught for a 100 quid but it could have been nearly 5 grand. Thanks to the girl in ebay that I talked to she warned me off without breaking any rules. The Citroen was taken off immediately.

Surely when buying from ebay if you always pay through paypal then you are protected.
I have had reason to claim refund in the past and never had a problem.
Do not be tempted to make payment any other way.

I wouldn't pay for a Motorhome without being stood beside it.

The fakes ads are a right PITA when looking for a legit van. Makes wading through them very tedious.

The thing is PayPal doesn’t cover big purchases, but you must send all your queries through eBay, you don’t have PayPal cover on vehicles as far as I know. Be very wary when shedding out big bucks on Fleabay guys

Hello folk, just on the subject of Ebay and Gumtree.com scams.... check in with busterjack on facebook before you consider a purchase across the water. Buster dedicates a fair bit of time to listing definite scams that are on ebay in particular. More often than not, the same vehicles appear on gumtree.com. I've heard before that gumtree UK is rife with scum posting photos of campervans and motorhomes and putting adverts up offering the first £1000 deposit secures the van. Pay by paypal or bank transfer and when you travel over, there is no one or no vehicle! Just beware!

Same fraudster trying to get me on a Pilote sale.........

Hi again,
Sorry for the late reply. Work has been hectic this past few days. Find several pictures attached. The vehicle is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. If you want to buy it, I can arrange transportation to your location for a proper inspection to decide if you are satisfied with the condition within a 7 days inspection period via Adyen secure escrow payments as mentioned in my previous email. Due to lack of use and the continuation of an overseas contract, it has to go. I look forward to your reply.

Kind Regards,
Katherine

Hello, Sorry for the late reply. Work has been hectic over the past few days. The vehicle is located in Dingwall, Highlands Scotland. Unfortunately, I have relocated to Berlin and Dingwall is too far away to arrange a viewing for each offer I get. I suggest going through eBay for your peace of mind. As a payment method, we can use Adyen.com secure online service which gives you 7 days inspection period on all vehicles for high amount payments before Adyen pays the seller (similar to escrow service and more secure than PayPal). eBay is to replace PayPal with Adyen as its payment system a leading global payments processor, to become its primary payments, processing partner. Regarding delivery, someone will transport it safely to your location.

The total price is £5600 including delivery fees and insurance. ETA on delivery 4 to 6 working days. I will set up a purchase agreement with Adyen and offer a full 7 days inspection period through their money back guarantee purchase protection program. This purchase protection guarantees that the vehicle is exactly as described; basically, once delivered, you'll have 7 days to inspect it and if you decide not to keep it you will get refunded instantly by Adyen and they will charge me with the return delivery costs.

I will get paid only after you confirm that the vehicle is as described. Let me know if you want to go ahead as I still have quite a few more offers from potential buyers. If you do want to go ahead please email me your full name and address along with your daily contact number to get this purchase registered with eBay and Adyen's secure payment service.

Many thanks,
Mark

Thank you for your interest. Sorry for the late reply. The PILOTE ATLANTIS A8 7 BERTH REAR BUNK MOTORHOME FIAT DUCATO 2.8JTD LHD is still for sale and available for viewing in Dingwall, Highlands Scotland. In very good looking and working condition. It belonged to my brother who unfortunately passed away a few months ago. All UK paperwork available and in my name, HPI clear. I reside in Germany due to work commitments. The reason I am selling is that it costs too much to change the registration from UK to German papers as well as the delivery fees to Germany which are considerably high.

My last asking price is £5600 including delivery to any UK mainland address. Where abouts are you based?

I look forward to your reply.

Kind regards,
Mark Eastwood

Hundreds if not thousands on there at the minute. Surly this isn't good enough of ebay to not delete these. They don't respond, they do nothing, EBAY IS A SCAM paradise.

Why don't they employ someone like ourselves who know motorhomes to delete the adverts? or a car expert to delete them etc etc...

Thinking of a way to get them to clean up their act, a petition perhaps... hmmm

that would indicate that eBay have contact with the guy doing the scam after he had stolen money from the the the buyer.
To my way of thinking that makes them an accessory after the fact.
So they are also being scammed or guilty .and if not guilty they should be doing something about the B#####ds.
