Campers for the most part love their morning Coffee. What do you use to make your coffee when camping in your Motorhome?

Do you bring your Nespresso or Dolce Gusto machine or use a plunger or cafetière?

We are planning of discussing this topic on a future episode of The Camping Crew podcast and as I’m not a coffee drinker myself I need your help and tips to share.

I use a Nanopresso. Great little thing. Hand powered pump action. No power. Just add boiled water and ground coffee or pod.

Do cold coffees count. But only if they are reduced in Tescos. 😵

For those who make real coffee what do you do with the grounds after use while you're away in the van?

They're supposedly good as a fertiliser for acid-loving plants... so if you see any around!!!

Three and a half years on from the second topic Ally linked to I still swear by the Aeropress makes a cracking cup of coffee and no mess. Just eject the puck out of it into the bin and wipe the end clean with a kitchen roll/tissue which goes in the bin too. No grounds stinking up the grey water tank and no additional cleaning required. Only slightly slower to make a cuppa than using instant coffee and takes up hardly any space. Best of all no electricity required.

Doing this you are in serious danger of clogging your Waste pipes, the grinds build up and turn semi solid and are very difficult to clear

I empty the grounds into the bin. I have to empty a little puck that contains the grounds (Nanopresso). Whatever residual grounds remain in the puck, I give a rinse in the sink. This inevitably means some grounds make it to the grey tank. Not ideal.

I put the grounds in the waste bin, they would stick in the waste pipe with all the grease going down it

Always used cafetiere but currently trying coffee bags from Taylor's of Harrogate.
Nice enough flavour and very convenient.

Cafetière and ground coffee for us. We spoon the coffee grinds into the bin. If making coffee for just one
then I use filter papers, simple and handy, no mess.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, definitely a hot topic and lots of different personal tastes and styles.

It could be a long podcast.
