Well, happy to report after a traumatic few weeks Donaghys have been awsome and sorted everything under warranty.
Our 2007 Mk 6 Transit with 39,000 miles on it failed to start one morning up in Leitrim a few weeks ago first thing in the morning just as we were about to head home.AA called, and it ended up being trucked to Donaghys in disgrace.
Turned out the cam tensioner caused timing chain to slip on cam sprocket.
Needless to say the resultant mess was expensive with many new parts.
However Donaghys covered it under warranty without any issues in full.
A real pleasure to deal with ,and how can anyone put a price on the peace of mind ? Worth buying from such a professional and reputable company.
Hope members dont mind be singing their praises, but thought it was worth sharing.

A firm like that deserves to do well and I’m sure they are when they provide service like that?

I need a part for my van, not a common off the shelf item. Sent Peter an email with a couple of photos of the item needing replaced and had an answer 45 minutes later. Part now on order.

I particularly like the fact that wether it is sales, service, or parts, they all can be relied on to be as helpful as possible. Proper teamwork. A major recurring complaint on many forums is that the sales team of many English dealers talk a good story selling vans and then the dealership doesn’t want to know or help after that.

Donaghey’s are almost unique in their business plan and I am sure it pays them back with loyal customers.

Have to agree with Davy. As was said sales, for some companies, is everything but not Donagheys. There after sales service is excellent. Having bought two vans from them I would highly recommend them. Great company

Have to agree too, I recently ordered one of the new Dometic pleated cab blind systems from them as a special order as it wasn't on their website. Was cheaper than anywhere I had seen it online and less than half the price of the equivalent Remis version. Service was top class.

PS have to say the Dometic blinds are really good, simple to install and work brilliantly. As they they have one front blind that pulls up from the bottom you can pull them up half way for privacy but still get light in and a view out. Plus they work with the rain sensing unit which the Remis don't. Will have to take some pics of them in operation this weekend and put up a review. Good video of them (in German) below.

Skip to about 50 seconds in to see them in operation and then how easy they are to install

Looks good....I think the Remis blinds are very flimsy....They also rattle. How do the Dometic fair out?

That is a far better system than the Remis

I've only had a quick drive to go mountain biking in Wicklow since I've installed them, didn't notice any rattles. We're heading up to Rostrevor this weekend so will keep an ear out. The front blind seems pretty solid though and the side blinds lock into place when they're down so hopefully there shouldn't be any.
