What have you owned

Just looked at the post from Rosemary who said how many motorhomes they have owned. Just wondering what you have had. I ll start.
1. 1.6 Air cooled VW with pop up roof
2. Ford transit Autosleeper, pop up solid side roof
3. 1.6 diesel VW Leisuredrive high top
4. Citroen diesel Tandy Sports Bus
5. Chausson Bora A Class
6. Swift Kontiki 7 berth
7. Euramobil 770HB tag axle
All the above were a progression as the family grew up and our needs changed. The one we have at the minute is a massive jump from our original van but looking back some of the best times we had were in that old VW air cooled as every journey was an adventure.

Ally asked me to copy and paste what I wrote on Carlingford Marina meet post, I see others already responding under the above title.

“Reading Hillton9 ‘s post that his MH will be on view as it is for sale ( I loved layout) - a craic meeting is a great opportunity to see different layouts, talk to others about your own MH, what you could do to improve it or if you are having any problems.

When you buy your first MH, everything is new to you and you find yourself asking is it “perfect “ for you, whether it is for a couple or a family.
What would your “wish list” be for your next one?

This month we are changing from our 2nd to 3rd MH....this should be our “forever” Mh, it appears to tick all the boxes, though I have loved previous ones. My priority is interior layout, Nigels is for more technical things.

What do you want in your next MH? Do you like a particulate make...Dethleffs, Burstner, Chausson etc
Would you buy privately or go to motorhome dealer? “

Sorry as usual my post is rambling.....
1st: In 2011, a 1999 Dethleffs Globetrotter Esprit...I think I have seen comments from others who owned identical.
Great layout, great condition as looked brand new,low mileage.
Luton made it a bit claustrophobic and quite high, making up the dining area into a bed with different arrangement of cushions made it uneven, there was also a single bed small table at the back, somewhere extra to eat. Seats for 9 ( 4 for travelling) Great toilet shower. area. We sold exactly 3 years later to neighbour of friend ( they also have Mh) at least someone who knows history.
As they were keen to buy, I felt we weren’t using it enough, and time to sell.
We had talked about a Wish list for next:
Fiat Ducato, Cruise control, swivel seats, quieter ( though still not easy to talk except on the new road surfaces) ,
fixed French bed....though any we had seen very small garage storage area underneath.

We went to Thompson’s in NI, we all love a browse, not really looking to buy, and as we live south with the VRT situation...but the most suitable one was registered in Co.Roscommon...RN ...our initials!! 🙄
Bought Jan 2016 Burstner A class, Aviano 610 (2009), panoramic at front, but max seating 4, bed over cab is lowered but you have to fold down front seats but good head room, still high but manageable. Nigel made an adaption to ladder rungs making it easier to climb and descend.
Transverse fixed narrow double bed with drop down steps.
Joined MHC shortly after buying.
It is a great MH, and I know trading-in, it is disappointing when you see how much it has devalued over a few years, though offered better deal when buying new...( owned nearly 4 years)

A few weeks ago we saw Burstner Lyseo 700 ...needs to be under 7m to fit on driveway. Island bed, it has a good sized garage accessible on outside both sides, electric drop down bed.The separate shower / toilet...faces into bedroom area...rarely more than 2 in Mh.
Good seating arrangement for socializing at meets.
At moment having extras added. I know late in year to buy, (got new reg number today no longer have RN)
some say we should have waited till 2020.

All 3 very different layouts. Prefer to go to recommended MH dealers, though hopefully no teething problems.
