Anyone got land in NI that they would like to open a CL (certified location) - a 5 van site. I can licence it and you need no planning permission. You can have up to 5 vans staying at your land at any one time just by meeting some very small guidelines. If you're interested let me know :)

No legislation in ROI, so unfortunately no.

If there's no legislation then you don't need anyone's permission for a few friends to call and visit for a few days. :-)

On an aside, does anybody know of a few acres, or less, that could be acquired inexpensively, that would be attractive, up north for this purpose.

The rules are that it's only for club members. I know a lot of CL's in NI let members of other clubs use their CL's but that's not the rules and we couldn't condone that.

You must have, fresh water, somewhere for black waste and good access.

Don’t know about up North, but black waste down south, is a biggy

@CHAUSSON

Another point, if we are using our full Certificate, then there is no limit on vans. We could hold a MHCC rally with hundreds of vans, with the land owners permission for up to five days. So that's a different scenario than a CL but using the same certificate.

Access to a sewer or a septic tank is all that's needed. If it's a septic tank of course green toilet additive must be used.

I'd have thought the only cheap land these days would be a bog or mountain top which just might be problematical!

Yeah, but....... 😁

Land is available, but unless it's beside the sea or a town no one wants to use it.

So would I, but I tried one in NI which was licenced at the time by MCCNI, not one of them used it. It was only used by Craic'ers and of course they don't wish to go there every weekend.

CL's are not as popular in NI as they are in GB, people are just not used to them, or know what they are. I suppose the land mass of NI is so small there will always be places to go with a sea view.

That new location is superb. Might need a grid ref for the entrance as there are a couple of sports clubs along that road. I’ll see if I can get one next week when passing.

It's on the App.

Any details on CL's only to be discussed in Club sections :up:
