Took a bit of fabricating, but turned out well.

A load of work! I never thought there'd be so much in it.

Yourself and Robin (with a little bit of help from me) done a great job👌

Sir you could carry a herd of cattle on that frame😂, really interested in these racing pigeons 😋.
Keep us posted.👍

Dunno what your cattle are like where you live!?

I was sick of losing so many pigeons. Last time I let them go when away in the van, I lost more before I got there than I did receiving them.

This will allow me to bring my full flight, those that are ready, and let them go safely.

Does this mean that you are taking the pigeon loft with you?😂

Even if you never towed a trailer, that frame is great protection and support for the rear end. Might be better to remove the ball hitch when presenting for a test, don't know about the North but I believe they are looking for documentation, type approval or something along those lines here in the south.

Have put quite a few work work vans through PSV since 2012 and never been asked for any documentation.

Thank you, for that. Does anybody know what the situation is down south. I’d like to get one of the motorcycle towing units I saw on here, but can’t find it. It had two small swivel wheels and it was like a little trailer. Only worry I have is, would those little wheels and tyres be up to a 1500 km dash in the French motorways. Well that and I can’t find the flipping thing, and so have no idea where to acquire one 🙄

These yokes are made for motorway speeds. In France such small trailers don't result in lower speed limits for the towing vehicle. So they must be fit for 130 km/h use.

@Daffysparks
It’s called a hydratrail made by a company called Easylifter. See HERE.
Stevie, username on here is Betty Swollocks has one for sale, I actually bought his old scooter rack a couple years ago that I carry our scooter on.
The thread you’re talking about is forum/topic.php?t=20264
The hydro trail has the outrigger wheels, leaves little weight on the towbar and yes, no problem on long journeys.

Thanks guys for that.
Jon that is the job alright that I was thinking of. However I won’t go purchasing yet, until I see the cost of a tow bar. Like Ally, my chassis stops about five feet shy of the rear of the MH. All at the one level though

Daffy, have a chat with this guy, David.
He has certified a few towbars for me.
However I am not doing towbar fitting anymore due to access to my work premises.
David has another fellow on his books doing similar work.

A brilliant job.
Not easy at all, because I know from experience.
Do you mind me asking, what's the towbar height. 16 inches or 19.5 inches?

It’s 20” Mal, but a couple cases of Carlsberg in the garage and we’ll loose that half inch !
It wasn’t a difficult job, time consuming yes... and a bit of attention to detail is needed...... and the welding needs to be right but we’re both certified coded welders.
Can have it certified if required, but that’s at an additional cost that isn’t required in this case.
We’ve manufactured and fitted towbars, Phoenix hooks etc to the county council wagons in the past before we closed up a few years ago.

He said he was turning overall new leaf.
Its going to be a caravan. Julie has had enough of him so he is going in the Dog box on the back when parked up with too many Green one's in him.

When I fitted our wagon with a towbar is was empty and the towbar height was nearer to 20 inches.
After the troops had loaded their stuff the height dropped an inch.
Just to explain 16" is the height for a car or small commercial van, while 19.5" is the towball height for a commercial van.
This only becomes an issue when you add a trailer which may or may not be level.
Also it may be an issue for the bike lifting rack mentioned in other posts here.
