Seen it done in Wales in practice for Himalayan trips, didn't fancy it, it's a long drop if you fall out of bed 😂

I've made it clear on here that I don't like the term "Wild Camping" - personally I think Motorhome Parking is suffice. CAMPA have decided to call it Freedom Camping, I don't really like that as it has the word FREE in it, owning a Motorhome is anything but Free, it also gives the impression we don't want to pay. But thats only my opinion, what do you think?

CAMPA

Also, what should our offical body for Ireland be called if we started one?

Motorhome Ireland I think :)

I don’t like the term wild camping but I do use it as most understand the meaning, I don’t much like freedom camping to me it conjures up images of a MH in a forest.
I tend to use overnight parking but clearly this gets lost on some people but it is more accurate in my case because it fits in with no camping activities but equally I use the phrase free camping, it all depends on who I’m talking to.

Is " motorhome overnight parking" too big of a mouthful?
I believe that this would convey our needs while not being confusing for Joe public.
Motorhome overnight parking is commonly displayed on European Aires that are located within a town square etc.

If you deal with the second question first, an official body ( Motorhomingireland ) all one word and as a logo across a map of Ireland with a road from Mizen Head to Malin Head with a little camper van on ( Mizen ) one end and a motorhome on the other ( Malin ) with the word across the middle west to east.

Then instead of calling it wild camping, we call it what we all do. ( Motorhoming ) because when you mention motorhomes people always say, I would love to have one, you can go where and when you like.

I'd draw that road through Derry/Londonderry, Belfast, Enniskillen, Cavan, Athlone, Limerick and Killarney.
