Thinking of heading to Kilmore Quay in the morning. The app has parking at the Heritage Centre, €10 a night. but no reviews since 2016.

Does anyone know the up to date position regarding paid parking in Kilmore Quay?

We don't "wild camp".

Thanks in advance

We have visited Kilmore many times. Last two visits paid €10 for the stop.
Its just a field, with bins in the middle. No other facilities apart from a hardcore entrance, next door to church and accross the road from nice pub which does good food.
You pay at Stella Maris coffee shop when they are open.
A good spot.
Enjoy.

Anyone thinking of heading down the sunny south east Wexford (Ferrybank) is fully booked for the weekend and Kilmore Quay has 13 on site this morning.

Just an update on Kilmore Quay
Stella Maris Centre is where you park. A very large field (2 fields actually). Very close to the harbour and pub. €10 a night payable to the Stella Maris Centre. Running water but no grey / black waste facilities. No EHU either. No hurry out in the morning either.
Toilets in the Stella Maris Centre during business hours (closed Mondays).
They do an excellent breakfast very reasonable.
There's a much talked about chipper at the harbour. Expect a wait of anything up to an hour on busy days. One haddock and chips will easily feed two people.

Stayed at Kilmore Quay this weekend, excellent stopover with nice relaxed atmosphere. Very dog friendly too....huge back field with large free space for our 2 collies to fetch ball....will definitely be back.

Kehoes pub literally a minutes stagger back from site entrance.....Good food there too!

I seen a guy emptying his cassette in the public toilets at the Harbour. There's supposed to be black waste facilities in the Harbour but it may be for the boating chappies behind locked gates.

Quite true, the may have built in holding tanks, but never seen a cassette coming off a boat.

Built-in holding tanks, which can be vacuum-sucked >_< , marinas along the Shannon have the gear for example.

That's the information I was given. There are also showers (not in use) at the Stella Maris Centre. If enough of us were to ask nicely they might recommission them.

Enjoyed our return visit to this site. Naturally, much quieter this time of year. Wonderful walks on beach. The Coast Hotel is a good spot to eat and have specials on their bar menu every evening, example Wednesday is Curry Night €10.95 Thursday Steak Night €15.00 etc.

Good to hear 😁

I heard someone with a Craic sticker wasn't made that welcome as it was a TIM campsite. I wasn't even sure what that meant.

Anyhow as long as it was just a rumour that's all good 😁

It gets great reviews on our MPI App and it has been bringing motorhomers there since the campsite opened. As has Motorhomecraic.com

All good 👍👍

I did notice a T.M.I. sticker on the wall at the entrance, but we have been made most welcome on the two occasions we stayed there.

That's great to hear, sure we are all Motorhomers no matter what group anyone belongs too.

I'd emailed them about holding a MHCC meet there but they never replied. It's too far away for me to travel too but I hope to call in next summer when touring.

It's a lovely site, well located to the beach and the village. Plenty of room, Alice is very friendly and accommodating. I would certainly recommend it. Not up to Strand camping quality, but then , where is in Ireland???

I don't know the full story behind all of this. But I know some were annoyed when Stella Morris closed. However this place always got great reviews.

I can't comment too much in case stories are then made up about stuff I didn't actually say. Which is what I was accused of by this campsite but I don't think they were to blame.

Didn't annoy me, what is more slightly annoying is one person taking credit where it is not due. We sent hundreds to this place via our App, with absolutely no cost to Kilmore Quay campsite. Yet someone else took the credit, but then..... That's not the first time.

So wether they should get their planning permission back is not something I can comment on, I'm not welcome, being so far away from home it's not an issue for me I also don't know the place at all. But it seems a LOT of Motorhomers loved it, so for their sake I hope they do.

I have always did what I do, for over 8 years now.

Since a certain individual took it onto himself to try and destroy everything I have done for the Motorhome community and try a character assassination on myself 'by his own admission' I have found myself repairing damage that he caused. He caused some here and it got back to me, so I will defend myself when the opportunity arises, there will always arise an opportunity no matter how long I wait.

Eventually all the bile and utter crap he has spoken will be corrected. This was one of them. You see, I'm not like him, I don't hide behind a keyboard and play mind games and try for the sympathy vote.

So whilst I know these types of posts are shite, one must put the record straight when the opportunity arises. I have always wished every business well and I admire those that actually get of their arse and try and create something, like Alice has tried to do. Not the bluffers.

I would never never never try and destroy someone else's livelihood, but I know one person that would. In fact I know four of them now, but they all stem from the same poison.

Now.... It's Thursday, that's me finished for tonight 🤗😉

I don't know what's going on here but the planning application was for 'Development of a Motor Home Park to Cater For 26 No. Motor Homes.
But the plans included 19 car parking bays plus a foul sewer and mains water connection to each 'motor home' bay, and toilet block with 12 toilets 8 Showers plus disabled facilities, :-/ :-/

I haven't had the pleasure of visiting the establishment, but if mobile homes, caravans and tents were being hosted that could well have caused problems for the planning enforcement officer.

As can be seen, the build specification in the planning application was very much over and beyond what is appropriate for a motorhome park. With the going rate of €10 - €12 per night at other motorhome parks like Eyeries and Sneem, for example, one wonders what was in the mind of the developer.

Ally the only thing I would say is keep doing what you have always done for Motorhome Craic as the evidence speaks for itself.
Forget about them other wasters as that is what they are, anyone can talk shite on facepuke and they are very good at it.
Enjoy the rest of your Thursday night.👍😅
