Normandy recommendations

Hi folks. So we are spending the penultimate night of our French trip just outside Angers. Tomorrow night being our last, we would like to split the difference between here and Cherbourg for our Thursday evening sailing. We did similar last year and stayed in an aire in Granville. We thought we might try somewhere else this time and we’re looking at Saint-Pair-Sur-Mere. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the place? Or any other recommendations in the area in general? Ideally we would like to be on the Contentin peninsula past Mont St Michel.

we have used a few times, Camping Saint Michel ( campingsaintmichel.com ) as our last staging point before going direct to Cherbourg. less than 2 hours and have detoured to Bayeux on one occasion.

Few lovely places up that western side of the peninsula, Gouville-sur-Mer is a nice stop with services and EHU on the aire there, see https://goo.gl/maps/6vP1fqeNiVoyJi2R7 or a favorite of ours is at Blainville-sur-Mer, See https://goo.gl/maps/daAut7bWL6jAcMtq6 but no services at all there.
There is lots of nice stops all the way along that coast and many right beside the beach/dunes.

Is that the Camping Côté Ô Mont-Saint-Michel, Martin. West of Avranches? Just spotted that now in the ACSI app.

We stopped at Carteret, about 40 km south of Cherbourg.
It's the carpark for the old ferry terminal to Guernesey.
One of the most amazing beaches that I have visited.
However, the weather could be against you as it's not favourable for the west coast.

We stayed in a campsite at Barneville-Caratet last year Malcom. Great beach alright, thanks for reminding me. We f we decide to go that far we will look into those parking spots for sure. Cheers.

Municipal campsite in Bayeux is good and the city is worth a look while you're there

No, it's much closer to Mont Saint Michel, about 30 Min away, in Couirtils on the D43 Rue Du Mont Saint Michel off the N175 it's also an ACSI site.

Well it’s been a long journey up to Normandy so we decided to stop at Saint-Pair-Sur-Mere and go no further. It’s a very pretty seaside town close to Granville with an aire perfectly situated for the town.

Yes that’s it alright. Took a stroll on the beach and by that pool. It’s choppy and misty today. Would be lovely in nice weather
