My boss in work is looking to rent a campervan for the June bank holiday weekend and asked me to see if there is any private people that rent out their Van's ?

Insurance would be the biggest obstacle, in my opinion.

Way back I had a Transit Autosleeper and a guy I knew approached me to rent it. I knew he wasn’t the type to wreck it so rented it to him. He arranged his own insurance for the week. Depending on the make and age of the van I would now not be so happy renting out. I know it would be hard to get panels for my van if damaged
