I've got a 2,000 watt Inverter which worked great until recently when a loud squeal started ad I've had to switch it off. Anyone got any ideas what I could do?

Jack, My old inverter will emit a high pitched sound when the batteries get low , you can check the voltage on your solar panel dial.and then on the batteries to see if you have a duff one

This would have been a little better put into the car audio section because us audiophiles deal with voltage day in and day out. You will be fine running that in your vehicle all day. 200w isn't anything. right now I'm currently running 2100w of power for my amps off of two batteries and the alternator keeps both of them fresh as could be.

As there is no car audio section its fine where it is, the original question is also almost two years old and the issue has been successfully resolved.
