The cable on our door handle snapped. Is there a diy fix or is it a case of getting a cable made for it?

Would that cable belong to the van side of your camper?
If so, any motor factors would be able to order one for you, they may even have one in stock.

No, it's the side door. The other half reckons they wouldn't be readily available. We're off to France in two weeks so we're hoping there's a quick fix for it!

I would be surprised if they are not easily available.
Imagine a trademan not been able to open their side door, because a cable was out of stock.

A bit more info needed Charlene,
Make and model of the van,
Or a pic of the whole door would be better,

Im trying to figure is it a van conversion (so parts available in main dealer)
Or is it a coach built so the likes of Dinagheys, Anchor point, might be a better option,

Im guessing by your handle you are around Sligo?......Donagheys letterkenny would be your closest,

Sprinter's suggestion for Finglas is a sure bet as that snapped bit in your pic looks like its crimped on,

A bicycle brake cable and either a solderless nipple or the pinch bolt that clamps a brake cable into the brake caliper.
