Reversing camera query

 ·
Posted: 25.03.2019  ·  #1
Hi all, looking to get a basic reversing camera but would need it fitted also.
Can anyone recommend somewhere to get it done? Without having to sell body parts to fund it?!

Help much appreciated. I'm usually based in Sligo or Westmeath. Thanks

If you are anyway handy you would be able to fit them yourself. It’s not a major job

Go to E Bay.

Get a complete kit or system with enough cable to fit front to back.

Don't faff about with wireless.

Spend 40 Euros but not much more.

If you can't fit it yourself get a mate to do it.

Good to know. Was planning this approach myself and wondering was I pricing it too low. Thanks!

Not sure we'd manage. It's our first van, afraid of damaging it when attaching the camera.
Would prefer that as it would be way cheaper. Is there one you could recommend as easy to fit?

Many thanks

If you really don't fancy fitting yourself you could always try a local auto electrician or car audio installer.....

Why not? My chinese ebay wireless camera works great, never missed a beat in the last two years.

Looks to me, from watching youtube videos, that you still have to wire it up for power and maybe something else. I was hoping it was proper wireless so I might have a chance of being able to do it :(

Just stick the camera bracket to the body withh sikaflex bring the cable in where your tv cable enters. Seal with sikaflex again, up to dash. Job done. However if you don’t feel up to it, don’t attempt it. Nobody likes fixing someone else’s mistakes. Any auto Electrican should be able. Just watch that cable entry is sealed properly

https://www.mcldirect.com/en/s…it_search=

Mcloughins are based in Newbridge, Co. Kildare.
The links shows their different camera products for sale from their auto shop.
Alot of the stuff can be picked up online for half of their price but that usual practice.
There is a garage operating out of the same building, which I am assuming is part of the family business.
This is the only place that I know of that could supply and fit.

Don't mean to slag off those who have wireless systems. Put it down to my lack of experience and reading of some problems.

Well... nothing electronic is 100% wireless, you have to charge it at some point. All they need is 12v power, very easy to do to be fair.

Doesn’t sound like Mozzie is anyway experienced or confident to wire one up. Just stick with Panda’s advice and get auto technicians to do it for you. Saves you doing any damage trying.
