Holyhead Area

Got this in an email from Stena this morning about a planned protest on the A55 and the potential effect it may have on traffic at the weekend, so if you are going to Holyhead either to get a boat or getting off a boat be aware.

Quote
Stena Line are aware of plans for protest activity designed to disrupt traffic on and around the A55 expressway to Holyhead Port on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd nights.
We cannot predict how this will impact on traffic flows but would advise customers travelling from /to Holyhead Port on both days to factor this into consideration and allow time for potential delays on their journey to the Port.
We are working closely with North Wales Police who will be doing everything they can to minimise disruption.

Regards
Stena Line

Summat to do with the Government's handling of Brexit.

Not sure if they are pro- or anti-Brexit.

Bit ominous when there was mention of targetting Irish lorries.

John, Holyhead has prospered from the Ferry services to and from Ireland and they do not want change, If the main routes switch to France and Spain there would be a big decline in the town and port thus the protest. That is what the ferry companies are gambling on to pay for these new ships. Brittany Ferries have a large contract with the UK government which is about to be renewed for millions

Irrespective of anyone's views on Brexit, (and this is not the place to discuss it), surely a business person would have second thoughts about holding up traffic with sign-written vans and potentially alienating customers.

Spotted a few Motorhomes there too.

If involved in an accident would Insurance company pay out?

Social, Domestic and Pleasure and all that guff.
