Like some craicers I keep an eye on Done Deal etc for Motorhomes and Campers for sale,

The amount of repeat adds is hilarious,
Most have very bad pics or not enough to show off the best of the MH,

Others are way over priced

You see a MH "perfect condition" and it turns out to be not so perfect,

I looked at a few over the years and to say i was miffed after driving a few hours to find a MH with empty gas cylinder so the appliances cannot be checked,
One had no water (my brother took the hose) and flat batteries in leisure & engine,
And then you see the add displaying "no more time wasters"

I see one Motorhome re appear on Done Deal for the last 12 months, no added info or pics and same price, and i bet the seller is wondering why its not selling,

The way i look at it is, You only get one chance to make a first impression,

Am i too fussy or missing some thing obvious?

You are not too fussy at all, I bet you I would be even harder to please. A few years ago we went to see a VW camper in Kidderminster, it looked very nice in the photo and so did the house it was pictured outside. We got a little lost and began looking for the type of house as a guide but when we eventually found the van it was outside a slightly lesser type of property, the guy came out to meet us as we parked, inside it was awful, it stank of chip fat and all of the doors and drawers were stuck tight with the stuff. We couldn't get out quick enough. Most certainly not as advertised. Why can people not just be honest?

Looked at a Rimor years ago in Dublin and the over cab bed was stuffed with Duvets, (again no water or gas😡) when i went to take the duvets down the seller got a bit narky asking what i was at, on inspection the passenger side was wrotten away at the bottom,

The ones that grind my gears are the ones that are just pics of the interior cut and pasted, out of a sales brochure or off the manufacturers website.

Don't get me started on the misuse of words like "mint" or "barn-find".

If you don’t get it off your chest, I could be disastrous and come out the other end. 😝

If you think that the camper/motorhome market is bad, the caravan market is a total nightmare.
Sold as seen, should be standard text on every add in this country.
Been honest, there is a culture around this country to sell on problems.
I had a serious issue with our mh, which is now sorted but a good few people advised me to patch it up and flog it.

I would not sell something to someone that I wouldn’t want sold to myself.

I’m into my classic military vehicles and have to laugh at some of the over priced stuff sold as “original” and never been cut/welded. Often it is a different era from what they think it is with bits added from all sorts of other vehicles. You get suspicious when you don’t see any photos under the bonnet or underneath and there is camo net and prop everywhere to hid things.
