In the Examiner today it was reported that the proposed Kenmare campsite was turned down due to sewage overcapacity.
Not that surprising given the amount of development that has taken place there already, but not great news regardless.

This project was nothing like a motorhome parking area like we see around Europe and here in Ireland in places like Cobh, Ereries, Carlingford, etc.
It was in fact designed as a mini but full function caravan and camping park with toilets, showers, laundry room, reception etc.
It is no harm that it will now not see the light of day as it would only have served to confuse the difference between what is a motorhome area (as per the common model throughout Europe) and caravan and camping park.

As a local resident said the traffic system cannot accommodate such "sized vehicles".

Well the cutest urban delivery vehicle is bigger than most Motorhomes and these delivery vehicles need to stop in the street while the Motorhome merely needs to pass down the thoroughfare.

The local pubs, restaurants etc. will be the poorer.
