Where are you all heading this year?

We as usual will be sticking mainly to Ireland but we plan a trip to the South of England again, mainly to see family. We have been meaning to do the NC500 for the last three years so hope to do that also, it seems to be always the same, big plans and not enough time!!

North of France was even on the cards at one point, but we don't have enough year :)

So what are your plans for 2019?

Unsure at present, the annual pilgrimage to Spain in July didnt happen with the MH in 2018 and depending on what is happening on the personal front will determine that trip. Everything else is topping on the cake with the usual turn left or right attitude on a Friday evening.

Usual weekends away interspersed with an odd craic meet and within a couple hours of Home as a rule.... and come late October we plan to chase the swallows south towards Spain once again for the winter.

We took in part of the NC500 route this year on our way to John O Groats in July and it was stunning, we then went back to Scotland at Halloween and another we run at Christmas.
Lovely areas for camping and the weather in 2018 really made it good, not to many plans yet for 2019 but there will be some soon. ;-)

We're heading to France in April with our new (to us) camper. We'll be arriving in Cherbourg and travelling down south. I'm hoping to get over to the UK too later in the year if I can persuade the husband 😁 and of course we'll have to travel some of Ireland before we go abroad just to get the hang of it 😉
My dad and his wife completed the nc500 last summer and loved it. I think they are planning to go back again.

We're starting off in Newcastle, not the one with the lack of signage, but the Geordie one. Then north and east up as far as the Shetlands, where we hope to spend a full week. Following that, the NC500, another one off the bucket list, then home via Skye and Oban, and depending on the weather some more of the Isles. Whisky tasting in Speyside, and haggis hunting in the Trossachs.

We will head for France in June, and into Spain most likely. There will be another week somewhere in July, unsure where yet. We did some of Scotland last year in July, might do Northern Ireland this year, if we’re still allowed in after Brexit. The usual weekends away in between. Maybe Kerry for Easter. As Ally said: too many trips, not enough year

Direct to Espana this year and Portugal as well , didn’t make it in the 2017 trip because of flooding and motorway fires. Looking forward to getting back on the continent especially Galicia, Cantabria and Asturias. Probably a few local trips as well not too far from Home and maybe the Monkey bike run in Tipp if I buy an MSX this weekend

We are landing into Cherbourg on the 21st of July and are heading northeastish.
Looking at hitting Strasbourg, Luxembourg, a bit of Germany, Holland and Belgium before landback in Cherbourg 20 days later.
Suggestions most welcome for 2 adults and 2 kids/ teenagers (it changes with the time of day ) on board.
We are looking at stopping twice at a really good campsites with bells and whistles for 2 or 3 nights to get the holiday feeling for the adults..
That's the big trip.
However a neighbour poped in for a Christmas drink or three, and commented that the wagon was gone for 20 weekends in 2018.
2019 new years resolution, we need to improve on that number.

Over that direction is Han sur Lesse.
The town has an amazing Stuff to Do like the trip by boat on an underground section of the River Lesse through the mountain where you are taken to the entry point by a narrow gauge railway. There is also a safari trip through an area of conservation where you will see wild animals like wolves, oxen, bears and other animals/wildlife native to mainland Europe, when that is over there is an indoor interactive centre where you can experience various geological stuff and birdlife in a VR setting.

France is super for motorhomers we just love the place and it’s so vast and they are so accepting of camping cars.

After checking the ferry prices for this year ahead we will be staying in Ireland again in 2019, and getting away as much as possible,

Lots of places, get the Campercontact and park4night apps (paid versions) and you have everything you need.
Enjoy.

@ Ally,
Well, last years planned ferry fee (when I seen the price quoted) was spent on Kayaks and we got as much enjoyment from the Kayaks as a trip, But we still have the Kayaks for future use
