Check diesel filter for water.

This has just flashed up on my 2014 Ducato.

I had the "check fuel filter" warning come up, and the light for water in diesel filter light is lit. I googled it and some are of the opinion its more than likely a faulty sensor. Has anyone else met this scenario? The filter was replaced about 200 miles ago.

Yes, frequently Saw faulty ones Nick, and on different vehicles.
Still worth seeing if there is water in the filter. The diesel nowadays has a % of ethanol in it and it absorbs moisture much more quickly than the diesel.
It’s basically a resistance probe that sits in the diesel in newer vehicles, used to be a float switch that only floated in water.
Have it checked, newer pumps cannot tolerate water at all.

Most filter would have a drain plug in the bottom of the filter housing or the filter it's self, drain it into a glass let it sit over night the fuel and water will separate good indication if the sensor is doing its job
The fuel will sit on top the water if it's all fuel replace sensor

Oh cheers Jon,
I'll have it looked at next week, just another problem.

A former boss of mine used to say “it is not a problem. Just an opportunity waiting to be solved”.
