Rummor has it that Irish Ferries are taking delivery on thursday, then we might see the timetable for next year.

Would you be brave enough to go on its maiden voyage?

I see a ship called Ragtime Annie moored closeby in Flensburg, maybe be a name better suited to the IF ship  :D

For those interested in the story of Irish Ferries, might like a look at www. irish-ferries-enthusiasts.com/irish ferries/ and click irish sea for their history and boats , where they came from and where they went. Things like they own the Pride of Bilbao which is still under lease to P&O.

Like many, it seems, I'm waiting for Irish Ferries to release their summer schedule which must depend on delivery of the W B Yeats.
I've been taking the occasional look at a live cam, hoping for movement from the shipyard. Here's the link... http://31.209.185.102/view/viewer_index.shtml?id=445452.

The other ferry being finished off beside W.B.Yeats has now sailed on the tide this morning, giving now a lovely view of the harbour with W.B. resting peacefully on her mooring, not a soul stirring with what looks like milk cartons at the bottom of the gangway.

The hull in the dry dock looks a lot like the white elephant floating alongside, is it the second one they ordered?

I see the W B Yeats has left her berth, but don’t get too excited, she has only moved into the berth vacated by another vessel yesterday.

Still I guess it is progress!

... and just booked. Looks like the only route is Dublin-Cherbourg port, with WBY, but, hey!! it's easier to get to than Rosslare (from up here, anyhow...).

From the phone call, this morning to IF, the Oscar Wild will be sailing from Rosslare this year until at least September .the schedule will be out in the next couple of weeks.

Just booked W.B Yeats, Mh + 2 adults for 21 May (16.00 arrive 11.00) Dublin to Cherbourg, back 19 June (17.00 arrive back Dublin 10.15) (think last night noticed huge jump few days later), 2 berth,no window (I like having TV and it had to be 3 berth on Oscar), flexible, €536.40.
I wonder how that will compare to Oscar around same dates when their schedule comes out?
Port close to home, new ship ....hopefully.
