A few year ago before the dreaded post codes, there was a ring on the doorbell and on answering stood the postlady. She says I think this is for you and handed me an enveloped marked with just Grandad Clonbeg Buncrana on it. Inside was a birthday card from a little grandaughter. How did you know this was for me , I asked, your letters all have East Anglia on them was the reply. who needed a post code !

Is that a Donegal thing? I think the post codes are great, no problem down here, they are brilliant when using google maps for finding places especially in rural areas.

No, just a shite system.

Typical of what happens down here when a contract is awarded to a company with political clout and backhanders.

Not fit for purpose.

Trust paddy to design a shite post code system.

The way the scam was organised Paddy was excluded from the tendering process, instead they wasted €50 million on an English led consortium to come up with less than we already had for free.   Rant over.

It works with google maps though. I’m starting to use it a bit when looking for places out in the sticks. Anytime I have tried it so far, it has brought me straight to the door.

Loc8 code is sat nav friendly and it works for houses, sites, the corner of a field or your favorite fishing spot. :-)

Don't know what happening but still no sign of the sticker

Just check what address you've been posting to

As you know, address was checked.

I had a word with the Post Office and their words were.... "everyone complains about post getting lost to RoI"

my mates a postman. I was pulling out of an estate and i spotted him getting out of his car across the road. Got out to talk to him as he strolled over to nearby postbox.
He had a bunch of letters that he chucked into the postbox as we talked. I knew not to ask, but he had a guilty look on his face and admitted he fancied finishing early so he "took his work home" and reposted them.
Thats the way to do it.

Finally Aidan got his sticker, 3rd attempt!! :D

Stickers wasted, price of postage wasted, just over £7 to send them recorded delivery.

I hope that postman finishes wallpapering his living room soon.
