M50 Toll

I’m pi**ed off, fuming. A couple of months ago I had to use the M50 to get south of Dublin and was in my Peugeot Expert Tepee. It is a 6 seater MPV with a wheelchair ramp and taxed as a car. I prepaid 2 journeys and thought no more about it until I received a notification that I had underpaid
as I was driving a commercial vehicle. I contacted eFlow and was told to contact their agent that sends out the notifications. It took me quite a while by telephone and eventually an email, forwarding a copy of my tax book to prove that it is a car. They sent me a confirmation that they had cancelled any further action. That was ok until yesterday when I checked my mobile and noted that it was excessive. When I queried the bill O2 told me that I had spent over £30 on contacting the company that was the agent for eFlow. So much for sticking to my principal and saving a few euros. Needless to say I have an email off

I wonder will this stop the sharp practice of premium rate service calls.

isn't it strange when ComReg? get involved the price goes up the very next day.but when they need to come down, it always has to be next year or maybe the one after and there is never any word of backdating

Yea, like the taxman, " I will take it now but you can apply for a refund "

If I can't find an alternative number and have to ring 1890 or 1850 I immediately ask them for a landline number or get them to ring me back.

I've also got one, I payed for a return trip on the m50 ,this is the second one in six months ,the last one I payed as I lost the receipt but this time I have it ,the last time I thought it was a scam ,this time I'm sure it is , as there is no money value displayed on the ticket , I have told eflow that I have been in touch with the psni and they state that all money transactions should have a money transaction printed on the receipt, anyone using the m50 and get a receipt check it to make sure that it shows how much you payed if not ask for a receipt that displays the charge ,the only way to stop this company ripping of people is to kick up a stink

I feel your pain.
This is a good site to avoid rip off phone charges http://www.saynoto1890.com

This site is invaluable. Even if the call is on a phone that allows 1890 as part of the inclusive minutes, I make a point of finding a landline number. At least toll roads usually offer a simpler/shorter/quicker journey than the alternative, 1890 numbers are a total scan on callers, they have no benefit ever.

Thinking of taping my number plate up and driving round and round the M50 to get my moneys worth

As I work at truck bodybuilding, some Dublin based hauliers want a light bar on the front bumper. This covers the top of the number plate as the camera is looking down at a 45° angle.
Likewise on the back, with the rear lights fitted into steel boxes, the number is under the box and brought forward a couple of inches, again shielding the number plate from the camera.
However when a crvt tester or Garda looks at the truck, both number plates are visible.
