Auick update regarding ID Mobile (i know thread is labelled Tesco Mobile)
I was in Amsterdam this week (work) with my colleague who is still on tesco mobile,
He had phone coverage everywhere i did but he could not usr data even though his iphone 6 showed 3g logo,

I swapped to ID mobile (android) a few weeks back, I had coverage and had 3g only but the 3g was quick enough for what i needed,

Im happy i changed as i had no bother with calls or data, so happy days

Have to say - I've been enjoying 3G since ophelia - except in glenveagh where I had a fairly constant 'no service' and her good self had voda 3G!

Im currently with three but i asked the Dragon (she is still with tesco) and she says she dosent see any difference,
Tesco is supposed to roll out 4g mid to late 2018 according to one of the reps on boards,
Are you finding it better or worse?

On that note - I travelled to Belfast last week and for possibly the first time - my network changed over seamlessly!!

I am but I don't use the phone much so the bad signal doesn't bother me too much , WiFi on the phone I have works well so I use that a lot

On LTE (4G) - download: 6.4 mbps and upload 5.37

On 3G - 15.4 and 2.25 respectively !

Think I’ll stick with 3G!! - tested in Rathmines Dublin - will try again abt home in the shticks

More in Tesco mobile 4g

Im currently with Three (until April til my "offer" expires €5😊)

Comparing Three & Tesco mobile
Both Android phones
Both 4 bars coverage
Both 4g showing
Speed test on Three was a big noticable difference slower than Tesco,
My conclusion is that so many on Three's network compared to un congested Tesco,

Tesco don't have a mobile network. They use ones of the other providers.

Yup, piggy backing on three to the best of my recollection, in the same space as eir mobile too. However I believe with less customers actually on Tesco mobile, their share of the space has more ‘room’ and less congestion :)

Eir customer service is dreadful. I have had numerous exchanges with them, as company phones are with them. Terrible, is the only way I could describe them, even found it impossible to get a vat invoice from them for a handset bought through their online service.

Anybody on Tesco mobile with a huawei phone having network problems?
I had trouble with the p smart and they exchanged it for the 2019 model,
Still the same result,

So after a bit of argueing my point and letting them know that its a problem with the p smart & the Tesco (roi only) they took back the 2nd p smart and I am now using Samsung with no issues at all,

My message is if you are having trouble with the network & huawei let them know that there is an issue,

I'd try to make a call, "not registered on network" would appear, but the name & 4 or 5 bars of coverage were showing,
Also i'd get a text the next day after it was sent sometimes, and if some body tried to ring they would be told the customer cannot be reached at the moment, try later,

I figured it was the phone when I swapped back to my old phone for a week to see if it was the phone or network,
The Dragon had the same trouble aswell as she got a psmart for Christmas,

We were in Scotland for 2 weeks and no problem at all, it seemed to be something to do with the Irish network & the P smart,

All sorted now thank God,
