If you go to any commercial garage they will tell you who in the area specializes in night heaters as they are in almost every truck now on the road. they are used to removing repairing and fitting. You have two Ts flow and return off your radiator flow and a power supply.

Just curious about these. (The heater in my van is propane and I've never used a diesel one.)

Do they use the derv from the vehicle fuel tank or do they use a separate tank where you could have cheaper red diesel instead?

I asked that question before and was told that they used so little diesel that it would not be worth the bother of fitting another tank for agri Diesel. True or False? I don't know.

My take on this is that it would take a long time to recoup the expense of fitting an extra diesel tank.

Our mh has a diesel blow heater. I am led to believe, with the temperature turned to the highest, the fuel consumption is something like 1/4 of a pint per hour.
I certainly don't see the amount been burnt, disappearing out of the tank.
To use agri diesel for heating is a big no no, because the colouring wax blocks the jet and produces smoke.
I hope that this helps,
Malcolm

My folks used to power their home heating burner using red diesel (35 second oil) instead of kerosene (28 sec.) The service guy put a different jet in it to suit. I think they only used it because they had an agri business and got the red cheaper than kerosene.

I burned green diesel for years. That’s what everyone burned back in the day
