Has anybody looked at a MH,
Find it dirty,
No gas to test appliances,
No water in the tank,
Find a "perfect condition" MH with plenty of faults,
When the faults pointed out to the owner you get the blank expression......

Then see said MH re advertised with the slogan Re-advertised due to time waster,

And my abosulute pet hate, go to look at a MH or car and its sitting well down in red.........if the owner wont throw a fiver in the tank, what else is skimped on

I always done that with vehicles for sale, you never know who is going to turn up and steal it, the quicker they run out or have to visit a petrol station the better.

Same here, ALWAYS made sure theres barely enough juice in the tank for that reason. Quick spin around the block only as a test drive.

When the guy buys in then the tank'd be full before he took it away.

But yeah, for the other appliances, you think they'd make sure they can be shown to work as they should and the vehicle clean... Common sense.

Just a little to add to the pot, My grandfather was a bit of a horse dealer and as a boy I would see the transactions going on between both parties as they haggled over the price. Then it would be ,the walking away, the shuffle back and begrudgingly offering a few pounds more. Then when the deal was done, the handshake over. Then the big one the Lucks Penny , which was a little money back and if they didn't get it the deal was off. That was life then, a lot simpler than now.

When i mentioned about the diesel,
I mean the gauge didnt move, when asked was it working.......perfect was the reply

I was afraid it was going to splutter to a stop.

We were handed the keys recently and told to take it off for a spin without the seller, and that was a Done Deal private sale. Depends how trustworthy the seller feels the buyer is.

I test drove 3 vans when I was looking - two with the seller one without!

It was a Donegal man that let me out without himself, trusting folk up there
