Well here we are , as per title, first day of first trip in our first camper, hubby dogs and myself. We were going to do ring of Kerry but then thought it might be fairly busy, so instead will do midlands and NW.
We are in Lough Ree East Camping and Caravan Park right down on the lakeshore and loving it. Very nice site.

Enjoy your van. It's great to get out on first trip to see how everything works and what you might need to do/get for future trips. Have a great time.

A smart choice destination, the forcast for the southwest and western coast is fairly wet over the next few days.
Enjoy Lough Ree.
Tip if you heading NW, Mohill in Rosscommon, is another campsite on a lake and its was €15 per night.

Great spot, enjoy- we got our first van three years ago and Lough Ree was one of our first trips! Many happy years of touring lie ahead!

Looks like a great spot, our first night we realised our leisure batteries weren't charging so there's always something but whatever happens you'll have a great time :-)

Well thanks to Thorn 123 we are here in an even nicer stopover in Mohill at Lough Rynn, its quiet and spotless.

A stop at Dromod to walk dogs,a good few Motorhomes parked up , pretty much the first we have seen as most peoples holidays must be over.

Thanks for the compliment, Eyore.
It's best to use a few campsites in the early days and to learn your wagon and the different ways to work it.
Parking in non campsite locations will come with a bit time.
Another tip. Grab a cheap fold up map of Ireland, and as you travel, mark the nice locations for return trips, because we all forget over the following months.

A really wet and windy day today, left Mohill and onto Carrick on Shannon for morning coffee and buns in the car park beside the bridge, picked up a folding step in Woodies to make life easier getting in and out the door. Then on to the Beach Bar in Aughris outside Sligo, a favourite spot from bike camping trips, the draw of the sea is too strong nice and all as the Shannon and lakes are.
