It has certainly exploded in Cork, beaches are full of them and for the most parts I'm happy to see that as I do remember how much I enjoyed my tenting ages.
As anything, it'll be up to them to show respect for the environment and their neighbors with fair play. I know a lot of friends that have been camping with tents lately and I know for a fact that they left nothing but footprints behind. Lots of exceptions out there unfortunately, but it's not an issue that it's going to be fixed short term. And I honestly don't see anything being done to at least start fixing the issue, only thing I've seen so far is cries to the council to go and clean it up after, which is arguably part of the problem.
Same as millennials, if mom comes right after to clean it up then they'll take no notice. We need education and fines... banning everyone will only affect those who follow the rules, which were the ones not creating the problem in the first place.
But other than that, I actually welcome tents and families being able to enjoy a quick and cheap getaway for the weekend
