Seen this tonight in Trossachs National Park Loch Lomond. Family 2+2 van full to the brim of paraphernalia for the kids. Out pops this from the roof box. All 4 up into it for the night. Dad locks up the van. Up the ladder. Up comes the ladder. Goodnight.

Seems like a brilliant idea as long as nobody has the call of nature during the night.

I have seen similar on off road 4x4, expedition type setup, mainly european regs over the years.
This one looks really modern setup.

The roof tents are very popular for off-road/overlander machines, very handy indeed. There's also a few solutions to use a porta-potty but, definitely out of my scope :P
