We are just back from a brilliant weekend in Ardmore (Dick's field ) and blessed with great weather and even better company.
I would estimate that the occupation per night was nearer to 150 campervans than 100 campervans.
While we met a few craicers both known and not so known , the question is really simple, hit the "like" button/ symbol if you were there.
In doing so, it helps the creators of this wonderful forum to keep going because they will see that their efforts are helping the whole motorhome/ campervan industry to improve on this island.

Great to meet yourself and your Family again Malcolm, must agree it was a super weekend and I also met a good few Craicers too, one I don't think I met since the first southern meet in Kilkenny all of those years ago. Ally you can be proud we were surrounded by Craicers.

Supervised motorhome parking is more profitable than the growing of spuds in a field. Location location

For his foresight, for me, he deserves every penny. He is giving us a great location at a reasonable fee when others are locking us out. Well done Dick

I reckon there are plenty of landowners around the country that could follow Dicks lead.

It the location of the field in relation to firstly the sheltered cove with an easy hoof to town and chemical toilet disposal. The other consideration that people are forgetting is that there is a national main road that is only 5 or 6 miles away. Lastly that particular area of the coast get some of the best weather in the country.
Taking those simple parameters, there are not many coastal fields that would live up to it.
I wonder would anyone wish to speculate that what Dick's annual insurance bill is?

Looks like we might make our first visit to Dicks Field next weekend. I get the impression it's a big enough field but does it fill up? It'll probably be 7pm on Friday before we get there, is there any risk we'll be turned away?

I shouldn’t have thought so. It’s a big field

No fear of been turned away. He has a second field as an overflow parking. Obviously beachside parking does be scarce.
On busy weekends there is now, someone on the entrance to collect the money. Seemingly there was some mh taking the piss and avoiding the fee.

Poor Dick, how can he manage to talk for over 2 hours to 150 visitors???? :D :D

Absolute legend!

Some cracking weather for some motorhome craic! Hopefully other towns take notice and they finally figure it out... I imagine that pubs, restaurants and shops have nothing to complain about either.
