There was a Knock at the Parocial House and when the priest answered it, there stood an old man holding a dead dog in a blanket. Father, he says this was my companion for 15 years he was called Jack and he was hit by a car and died. Do you think you could say a few prayers over him before I bury him in the garden ? Afraid not says the priest , I deal with people not animals but if you go on down the road to the Church of Irelands vicars house he may do something for animals.
