True Jack until you have an accident. Sure you could do as much damage with a push bike.
Talking of push bikes what happens if you scratch the side of an expensive car or something, will your house insurance cover the damage??

PSNI are interested in your ebike as the took a bike off someone on the north coast a few weeks ago and they posted on their own Facebook page about. Lifted it for no insurance. What happens if you crash into someone on a normal push bike??
You’re still alive anyway. Was wondering had you been lost on the continent

At the time it was quoted "due to circumstances"
I have since learnt the guy was drunk and being abusive to police. Also from a very reliable source, (not in these words) "don't be a dick and you'll be fine"

The old saying "2 sides to each story".
However during a Late late toy show about ten years ago, there was a warning about battery power vehicles been not compliant to road traffic laws. Over the last few years I have been wondering the same with e bikes.
Any opinions ,
Malcolm.

Considering that an ordinary push bike can easily exceed the 25km/h at which a pedalec motor cuts out when ridden by a fit cyclist this whole debate by officialdom seems a bit juvenile.
Give anyone of us a bit of a tailwind and a bit of a hill down and our speed can go well beyond the 25 km/h at which a pedalec motor cuts out.
