Dometic RMD8505 Control Panel

My Dometic RMD8505 AES fridge freezer appears to be working OK on both 230 volts and gas. I have not tried it on 12 volts. However none of the LEDs associated with the push buttons on the control panel illuminate. The two LEDs that indicate 'operational' and 'fault' also do not illuminate. This means that I don't know what temperature it is set to or what energy source it is on.

I have looked on line but can't find a service manual.

Any ideas on what the issue is and how I fix it?

Sorry for not coming back earlier.

It was suggested to me that the controls for the fridge are fitted with a rechargeable battery which is buried somewhere in the controls. i couldn't find a way into the controls so don't know if this is the case.

My previous testing of the fridge had all been on gas with any van connection to EHU being only for minutes.

After a day or so I connected the van to the EHU and left it connected. It was left this way for a couple of days; when I went back to it the fridge control panel was illuminated correctly and everything worked. There has been no problems since.

It appears that with the van having the master controller turned off over the winter something discharged. When the EHU was restored for a couple of days everything seemed to 'reset'.

I never was able to turn up the correct service manual.

I had a similar problem with our Dometic RMD8505. Frankia 640 van 2017. All fridge functions have been fine to date. Not used it for the last month. 48 hours ago went to turn the fridge on ready to go away. No LED lights at the top of the fridge. Both batteries had normal voltage. Fridge internal light working fine when door opened.
Set to ‘A’ to allow the fridge to choose its power source. Working fine on gas when driving. Freezer and fridge both working but still no LEDS.
First night no hook up. Last night had it on 240 volt hook up overnight and this morning the LEDs are now on!
Not sure what is happening but happy the lights are on so we can now control the fridge temperature.
