This is a pretty reasonable offer, it worked out 509 cheaper than BF, I do like the sailing times and the Pont Aven but I couldn't pass up that much of a difference.

Bit the Bullet after Christmas and booked France with Irish Ferries through their advert here on the site for next August, 10% discount, we haven't gone for the past Two Years and then I see this 25% Discount and said sh1t and decided not to even check the Stena price, to hell with it! Anyway curiosity got the better of me last night and having flexi booking with IF's I said I might cancel with IF's and re book with Stena , Anyway to cut to the chase, 25% discount with Stena was only €5 euro cheaper than 10% Discount with Irish Ferries for our travel dates.

With Stena only, on the Horizon.
Dogs can stay in the van... but you only get 2 visits to them (15 mins) on the 18 hour crossing. Also have on board kennels which you can visit as many times as you like.
Dogs travel free with Stena but are charged extra on Irish ferries.

I Haven't used IF other than with a car in the low season so I can't compare their prices, but it wouldn't surprise me that a 25% on one carrier is the same as 10% on another, the Horizon is an old boat now at least 30 maybe closer to 35. My better half loves BF, and the landing times in FR are good, but 500 is too much of a price differential to pass up in spite of the 3-4 hr drive to Rosslare instead of Cork. We are also thinking of heading more east this trip instead of down so Cherbourg is more convenient.
Hey ho its good to mix it up a bit anyway.
